It's been a mind-expanding and, frankly, humbling experience (I'm confident in saying that I am, without doubt, the only labour lawyer in a room full of techno-wizards). In any event, I have met some great, highly creative people and have seen some outstanding presentations.
Two things stand out for me.
First was the conversation with Tom Williams and Austin Hill about philanthropy and web communities. I am still digesting this, but Tom and Austin were, without question, two of the most motivating speakers I have ever seen. This highlights the fact that if you are passionate about your subject, great things can happen.
Second, I also sat in on the panel discussion with Nora Young, Mark Schneider and Mark Federman called " Digital Blinders - Are We an Inch Wide and a Mile Deep?". This was an an intellectual tour de force replete with Marshall McLuhan references. I'm still sorting through my notes and take aways on this one.
Back at it tomorrow and very much looking forward to meeting meeting more people and being challenged by the subject matter of the conference.
