With all the talk of bailouts, concessions, layoffs and cuts it's not surprising that people are in turmoil and questioning their own security. However, in the midst of all that, comes a story that Waterloo's own Research in Motion ("RIM") is bucking the trend and hiring. That's right, hiring.
According to the AP report:
BlackBerry maker Research in Motion (TSX:RIM) is ushering in thousands of new employees this year, hoping to gain an edge over its competitors by hiring tech gurus laid off by others in slower parts of the technology sector.
And why not? The talent pool is overflowing these days and employers that are ready to take some short-term risk can wade into the pool and position themselves very nicely when this period of instability mercifully comes to an end.
